Joining Information

Who is it for? If you are aged 11 to 17 and you like what you see on the activities page then its for you.  (If you are an adult and keen then you can probably help too!).
How often do I need to come? If you join the unit you have to agree to come to cadets on Tuesday nights from 7:00pm to 9:30pm.  There are also lots of chances  for activities on other nights and at weekends.
What happens when I join? Anyone over 12 will spend the first 2 - 3 months as a New Entry before going into full uniform.  Those under 12 can become a Junior Sea Cadets which is more relaxed and casual, it will get you ready for going up to the full section.
Do I have to wear a uniform? Cadets normally wear a Working Uniform and on formal occasions we wear Full Ceremonial Uniform.  We lend you the uniform but you need to get  your own boots or shoes.
How much does it cost?

You will need to pay a small uniform deposit and a joining fee (£20 in total).

You will also need to pay regular cadet donations of £5 per month.

How do I get started? If you want to know more you can phone us and arrange to pop in and see us (see Info & Contact page).
Want to know more? Have a look at the Parents' Guide on the Info & Contact page (you will need Acrobat Reader)
